Welcome to Friends of the Boscastle Museum of Witchcraft

The Friends of the Boscastle Museum of Witchcraft is a registered Charity that works to enable the many supporters of the museum to become practically involved with the museum’s development.

Through ‘Friends’ we have raised money for new projects and conservation equipment, coordinated people for voluntary work and helped students and researchers access the unique collection of artefacts and books at the museum and its library.

Each December you can meet old friends and new at the Annual General Meeting & Get Together that is held in Boscastle. Membership runs from September each year and is renewable annually.

Friends AGM 2010

On behalf of the Trustees, I extend a very warm invitation to all Friends to our AGM and Gathering, which takes place at the Wellington Hotel in Boscastle on Sat 4th December 2010. This is your opportunity find out what Friends have done over the last 12 months and have your say on future activities. We have assembled a feast of talks for your edification and delight. Professor Martin Smith will talk about his investigation into the history and origins of the  tarred skull, Harriet (formerly known as Harry!). There will be a special opportunity to hear John Smart speak about the Royal Windsor Coven and The Regency, and Joyce Froome will speak about Magic in Christianity; the subject of a new display. I will  talk about my research into film maker Kenneth Anger & his influence on the occult scene in 1960s London. We will screen the new Museum promo film, funded by Friends and there will be an opportunity to purchase Yule gifts at our stalls.

Bring instruments and voices for an impromptu music session in the evening.

The event is free to all members of Friends and  people may join on the day. Special Friends prices are available  at the Wellington Hotel (Now fully booked) and Pencarmol, & Boscastle has plenty of B&B accommodation. We hope to see you there!
